  LLANDYBIE   41      LLANGADOG  12

Llandybie welcomed Llangadog to the King George Playing field for this return fixture having lost to them earlier in the season. Both sides were intent on throwing the ball wide from the outset, with Matthew  Lloyd pulling the strings for the hosts for Connor Thomas on the wing using a fierce handoff to score an early try. Llangadog  added  some pressure of their own to gain two penalties which were missed. When Llandybie had a penalty for offside Ben Featherstone slotted the kick. A good break from defence by Wayne Williams with Lyndon Davies in support but Gadog number eight did well to get back to make the tackle. The hosts recycled but the Gadogdefence was strong.                                                                                            Llandybie kept up the pressure but lost centre Rhys Evans with a head injury. With captain Keenan Jones missing from the scrum young Ethan Walters gave a sound display at tight head. Good carries by Tim Williams and Lyndon Davies gained twenty metres with Gadog flanker coming in from the side. Llandybie elected for the scrum and Alex Wigley passed to Connor Thomas coming in from the right wing, offloading to Nathaniel Butler, with a fine sidestep to outpace the defence to score under the posts, Featherstone adding the extras to lead by  15 – 0.  Another Gadog penalty was missed, but from a kick ahead Matthew Rees picked up the loose ball passing inside to Thomas to score his second try ,to lead 20 – 0 at half time.                                                                                                                                           Llangadogmust have had a good talk at half time because they came out  all systems firing and should have had a try from a lovely chip through  the defence but the player missed the ball and Llandybie cleared long, chased by Rhydian Jones who gained a penalty for the hosts. They elected for the scrum, from the pick up Merlyn Mc Clelland made good ground with a charge with the ball spun  out to Wayne Williams who rode two tackles to score with Featherstone adding the points with a fine kick from wide out. Llandybie lost Alex Wigley and Eirian Williams with leg injuries, but replacement scrum half Leighton Rees went blind from a scrum to almost make the line.  A clearing kick by Gadog was charged down by Ethan Walters falling to Lyndon Davies to Tim Williams to Thomas on the right to outpace the cover to score his hat trick try, Featherstone converting with another fine kick to put the hosts ahead 34 – 0.    Llangadog still hadn’t given up and from a number of carries scored a good try by Rhys Thomas converted by Daf Jenkins .With their tails up they scored another driving try by Harry Sparks. Llandybie were to have the last say, with good interpassing between forwards and backs across field to winger Rhydian Jones to score converted by Featherstone to run out winners by 41 – 12. Llandybiehave a big test next week away to unbeaten Nantgaredig
