New Dock Stars 16/2/19

 NEW DOCKSTARS    19      LLANDYBIE    60

Llandybie travelled to New Dock expecting a tough game especially up front. New Dock missed an early kickable penalty and from a good attack by Llandybie centre Rhys Evans recycled the ball to find fly half Matthew Lloyd to burst through to score under the posts converted by Ben Featherstone. New Dock were penalised for handling in a ruck and  Featherstone took the points. New Dock on the attack but a long defensive clearance by Alex Wigley with a good chase from Llandybie gave them turn over ball, Lloyd put it to his backs, Wayne Williams into the line to Featherstone on the wing and Nathaniel Butler took the pass to sprint thirty yards to score, Featherstone again converted . Another flowing move by the backs put Lloyd through the gap to score,  Featherstone adding the points to lead by 24 points to nil.                                                                                                                                                         New Dock fired back using their pack well and from broken play number eight Luke Edwards forced his way over the line converted by Adam Gealy.  Half time  7  -  24                                                           Good interpassing between back row Lyndon Davies and Rhydian Jones with the ball recycled to Butler to score, Featherstone adding the extras. A strong carry by Davies with Wigley quickly putting the ball wide to Williams, Aled Tommason and centre Butler in support to score.  A quick repost from New Dock gave another try to Luke Edwards again  converted by Gealy.                                                                                                                                       From a long clearance from New Dock,  Lyndon Davies with a fabulous forty yard carry with James Tommason and Mike Tench quick to the breakdown and the pack charging on for hooker Jordan Tommason to take the final pass to score ,converted by Featherstone to lead  14  - 43.   With excellent tackling by Mike Tench and James Tommason a dropped pass in New Dock midfield was picked up by centre Rhys Evans shrugging off a tackle to sprint  sixty yards to score, with Butler in attendance just in case. From another attack out of defence Rhys Evans chipped over the cover to gather and sprint thirty yards to score converted by Featherstone. New Dock had not given up and remained competitive. With a series of pick and go’s sucked in the defence to throw the ball wide for David Jones to score. Llandybie had the last say with forward drives from Keenan Jones and Dai Lloyd with Jordan Tommason handing on to ever present Lyndon Davies to score a deserved try.  An excellent display from the Llandybie backs having the added nous of a fly half Matthew Lloyd playing at ten, but stand out players were Davies and Butler who were everywhere in attack and defence.
